Australian Franchising: Flaws and Controversies

Franchisors in Australia have been under scrutiny recently after looks into the employment records of 7-Eleven franchises revealed underpayment of staff. There's been speculation about the effectiveness of Australia's current franchising model, with the financial pressures placed on franchisees and, in turn their employees to try and ensure a profitable business. Franchising expert and Adjunct Professor at Griffith University's Asia Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence, Michael Sherlock joined the Daily today to help us understand the system and its flaws.
